About the event
This is a three-day class that will focus on the Mastercam Mill product to develop programming fundamentals & set up procedures utilizing the Mastercam software. The course is designed for a user to build their milling programming skills in Mastercam to create Gcode and set-up sheets in an easy flow concept to part completion.
Agenda will focus on utilizing the newest strategies that will decrease programming time and increase productivity and tool life. These strategies will be presented in a manner that they can be applied to a variety of parts and machines.
A variety of topics will be covered including Importing Geometry, Creating Work Coordinate Systems (WCS), Stock Creation, Geometry Alterations, Contour Toolpath, Drilling & Tapping, Facing Toolpath, Pocketing Toolpath, Dynamic Milling Toolpath, Chamfering, Engraving, and Thread Milling. We will also be guiding the end user in learning how to create tools, create tool libraries, organize geometry using levels, post g-code, verify their programs, and create set-up sheets.
Users will be interacting with the Mastercam software throughout the entire class as the instructor will reinforce the content covered and ensure their retention from what they have learned.
FASTech provides computers, Mastercam licenses and lunch each day.
Prerequisite(s): Basic Computer skills
Optional: Some knowledge of Machining
