Basic Lathe

This two day training class that will cover all types of 2 Axis Lathes with 2D and 3D models incorporated.

Agenda:

This class will cover programming for a single turret style lathe that utilizes the X and Z axes with tailstock & stock flip on multiple parts. Users will learn how to manipulate different types of geometry and place them in toolpath position quickly and accurately.

With a focus on facing, OD & ID roughing and finishing, grooving, threading, and cutoff while learning techniques for plunge & Dynamic Turning. The class goes in depth on different techniques that will assist you in real shop applications on your parts to save tool life. Creating tools and libraries will be used throughout the course along with Verifying toolpaths and outputting Machine Code.

Prerequisite(s): Basic Computer skills

Optional: Knowledge of machining
