Advanced Mill

This is a three day training class that covers the toolpath fundamentals on working with 3D Solids and or surface model toolpaths. This class is geared towards individuals that are working on Molds and Complex 3D shapes.

Agenda:

You will learn how to analyze and manipulate a model to enhance your toolpath knowledge when working with more complex shapes that would need the Mastercam3D Product. Models can come through a variety of CAD systems which we will guide the user to work with multiple formats. The class will focus on Simultaneous and 3-axis cutting on vertical or horizontal machines. This class builds the foundation for the Multi-axis class.

A programmer is expected to work off a Model that may have been sent by a customer which maybe incorrect or missing features. We will show the user how to fix corrupted models or surfaces in order to place an optimized toolpath on the model. Filling in gaps while creating working geometry will also be discussed in class. The user will gain knowledge on what type of toolpaths to use for roughing and finishing a mold as we work through multiple files with different challenges highlighting new techniques for machining & tips that will be utilized throughout the class.

FASTech provides computers, Mastercam licenses and lunch each day.

Prerequisite(s): Basic Computer Skills, Mastercam Basic Mill

Optional: Intermediate Mill is not required but highly recommended
