Basic Mill Training |
||
|---|---|---|
This class provides a comprehensive understanding of 2D design and 2D toolpaths. At the end of this 4 day class you will have learned the most efficient and effective programming methods for 2D work. Descriptions of the 2 main components of this class are as follows:
2D Design – During the design portion of this class we will create and modify geometry as would be needed in day to day activities. You will learn how to move geometry, change it's color, put the geometry on different levels, and learn how to re-orient the part after it has been imported in from other cad systems.
2D Toolpaths – During this part of the training we will show you the toolpaths that Mastercam has to offer for 2D machining. This includes part facing, contouring, pocketing, drilling, island facing, re-machining methods, and also how to save and import operations. During this portion of the class we will also go over our solid verification methods for the created toolpaths.
Prerequisite: Basic understanding of windows operating system, and CNC machining work. Duration: 4 days (32 Hours) |
||
| Lathe 5th Day | ||
Students proceed to this class from the 4 day Basic Mill training class. Included is coverage of Lathe toolpath features such as Face, Rough, Finish, Groove, Drill, Thread, Cutoff and Misc. Operations. Instruction on how to define stock in Stock Setup, use the Toolpaths Manager, save and then import operations from an operations library, create tool geometry to use in an operation and starting your own library of tools is also explained. Note: Live tooling and Caxis toolpaths are not covered. Specific training can be scheduled upon request. Please call FASTech at 419-425-2233 for more information and to get open dates. Prerequisite: All students should have a basic understanding of computer operation including use of mouse, file manipulation, etc. in the Windows® operating environment. Duration: 1 day (8 hours) |

| X Update | ||
This 2 day class covers the changes from Version 9 to X in Mastercam. Interface and Design During this part of training you will learn about the new interface layout in Mastercam and how to use point selection and basic geometry creation features. You will also learn how to use the geometry modification and transformation features, how to create or move entities onto different levels, geometry selection in X, and how to import and export files from other CAD systems. Toolpath Creation In the second part of the training you will learn how create a machine definition by updating your Version 9 post. You will also create both 2D and 3D toolpaths on parts, learning about the new toolpath features. You will use the new backplot and verify features to then check these operations. Duration: 2 days (16 hours) |
